*Workday UPDATE - MDS Still Offers Core Stock Products to Campus Users*
Workday has replaced ShopUW+ as the platform for accessing the Verona Operations MDS Core Stock catalog, so all item searches and purchases must be done within Workday Inventory—not through ShopUW+.
Some users have experienced challenges when trying to find and purchase our MDS Core Stock catalog items. Fortunately, this can be resolved by following a few simple steps outlined in the link below:

Noteworthy Considerations:
- All items ordered through MDS Core Stock continue to be delivered next business day
- Verona Operations MDS holds the industrial alcohol permit for campus and stocks several sizes of both 190 proof and 200 proof ethanol in our Core Stock catalog. Because of the change to Workday, our item numbers can no longer be found in RMM.
- MDS purchases truckload quantities of copy paper using the mandated State contract. Cases of 100% recycled and 30% recycled copy paper are available in our Core Stock catalog and can be purchased in any case quantity needed.
Verona Operations administers UW-Madison’s Receiving and Delivery, Warehousing, and Surplus Property operations and is comprised of two programs – Material Distribution Services (MDS) and Surplus with a Purpose (SWAP). Both programs are part of the Purchasing Services department within the Division of Business Services.
Surplus with a Purpose (SWAP)
Promotes the reuse, sale, and environmentally-friendly disposal of the State's surplus property.
Material Distribution Services (MDS)
Provides UW-Madison's redelivery services for ShopUW+ orders, management and order fulfilment for inventory catalogs of numerous entities, and warehousing space for campus schools/colleges/divisions as well as other State of Wisconsin Agencies.

Our facility is located just south of the HWY 18/151 Exit 79 in Verona. There is a large UW Crest on the side of the building, making it easy to find from either Thousand Oaks Trail, or American Way.

Materials Distribution Services (MDS)
The MDS receiving dock accepts parcel and palletized deliveries Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
The MDS dock is located on the south side of the facility and carriers should use one of the bays #4 through #8, which are easily accessed by using the south parking lot entrance.
Surplus with a Purpose (SWAP)
Auction payments & merchandise pick-up are available Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
CLOSED Wednesday, October 15 from 12:00-3:30 p.m.
Merchandise pick-up is located at the northeast corner of the building. When entering the main parking lot from Thousand Oaks Trail, pick-up is to the left at the bay #2 overhead door. Please ring the doorbell next to the walk-in door for service.
