For State Agencies

SWAP is a designated agent for reselling and disposing of surplus property generated by UW–Madison and Madison Area State agencies. Agencies are not authorized to dispose of surplus property unless they meet certain sales and reporting requirements of the Department of Administration, or unless they dispose of their property through SWAP (State Procurement Manual Pro-416).

Non-UW state agencies may request to deliver surplus property to SWAP using the Surplus Request Form. Free pick-up services for non-UW state agencies are currently suspended.

SWAP occasionally offers items for donation. Please see our Property for Donation page for more information. Donations are restricted to verified Wisconsin tax-exempt organizations and items are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Proof of tax-exempt status is required to receive a donation.
